About this condition
Necatoriasis is a hookworm infection caused by walking barefoot on contaminated soil, where larvae penetrate the skin and migrate to the intestines. The worms attach to the intestinal wall and feed on blood, causing anemia, weakness, and digestive problems. Common in rural India with poor sanitation, it particularly affects agricultural workers and children playing in soil.
