About this condition
A chalazion is a painless bump on the eyelid caused by blockage of a small oil gland. It appears as a slow-growing swelling on the upper or lower eyelid and may cause mild discomfort or heaviness. Most chalazia resolve on their own with warm compresses, but persistent ones may require medical drainage.
