About this condition

Lymphogranuloma venereum is a sexually transmitted chlamydial infection causing painful genital ulcers followed by severe swelling of groin lymph nodes that may rupture and drain pus. Without treatment, it can cause permanent damage to genital and rectal tissues. Early antibiotic treatment for three weeks is essential to prevent complications.
