About this condition

Chlamydial vulvovaginitis is a common sexually transmitted infection affecting the vagina and vulva, causing abnormal discharge, burning during urination, and itching. Many women have no symptoms initially, but untreated infection can spread to reproductive organs causing pelvic inflammatory disease. Single-dose or week-long antibiotic treatment effectively cures the infection.
