About this condition

This is a rare inherited eye condition affecting the layer behind the retina, causing progressive vision loss that eventually leads to blindness. It primarily affects males and usually begins in childhood with night blindness. Currently there is no cure, but genetic counseling and low vision aids can help affected individuals and families.
