About this condition

Fascioliasis is a parasitic infection caused by liver flukes contracted from consuming contaminated watercress, aquatic vegetables, or water. The parasites migrate to the liver and bile ducts causing inflammation and damage. This condition is more common in areas with livestock farming and consumption of raw or poorly washed aquatic vegetables.
