About this condition
Loiasis is a parasitic infection caused by the Loa loa worm transmitted through deer fly bites, endemic to Central and West Africa. Infected individuals may see the adult worm moving across the white of their eye or feel it moving under their skin. This condition is extremely rare in India and typically only seen in travelers returning from endemic regions.
