About this condition
Otosclerosis is a condition where abnormal bone growth in the middle ear prevents the stapes bone from vibrating properly, causing progressive hearing loss in the left ear. The oval window becomes fixed due to excessive bone formation. This leads to gradual deafness, often accompanied by ringing sounds, and may require hearing aids or surgery to restore hearing function.
