About this condition
Taeniasis is a parasitic intestinal infection caused by tapeworms, usually contracted from eating undercooked or raw infected meat. The worm lives in the intestines and can grow quite long, sometimes causing digestive symptoms or passing visible worm segments in stool. Most cases can be treated effectively with anti-parasitic medication prescribed by a doctor.
