About this condition
Tuberculous neuritis occurs when tuberculosis bacteria affect the peripheral nerves, causing inflammation and damage. Patients experience numbness, tingling, weakness, and pain in affected areas, often in hands and feet. This is a complication of untreated or inadequately treated TB requiring immediate anti-tuberculosis treatment and nerve supportive care.
